- Log into your SoTrustworthy Dashboard.
- Click Settings in the main navigation menu on the left side of your screen.
- Select Billing & Subscription from the tab options.
- Click the Change Plan button next to your current active tier.
- Review the feature comparison and select Starter, Growth, or Pro.
- Review the summary of charges and click Confirm Plan Change.
What Happens When You Upgrade?
When you switch to a higher plan (for example, moving from Starter to Growth or Pro):
- Immediate Access: You gain immediate access to higher SMS review request volumes, advanced review-request throttling settings, and premium CRM integrations like Jobber and HubSpot.
- Prorated Billing: Our billing processor automatically calculates the unused portion of your previous plan and applies it as a credit toward your new tier. You are only charged the difference for the remainder of your billing cycle.
- Higher Throttling & Volume: If you hit your monthly review request cap on a lower plan, upgrading instantly resets your sending capacity so your automated SMS workflows can resume sending text messages to recent customers without delay.
What Happens When You Downgrade?
When you switch to a lower plan (for example, moving from Pro to Growth or Starter):
- Effective Date: Your current plan features and higher SMS request limits remain active until the final day of your current billing period.
- Feature Adjustments: At the start of your next billing cycle, your account will switch to the lower tier limits. If you were using integrations exclusive to higher plans (such as native Jobber or HubSpot automatic syncs), those integrations will pause until you re-upgrade.
- Adjusted Throttling: Ensure your daily and monthly review-request throttling limits match the caps of your new plan so your customer follow-ups continue running smoothly.
How to Cancel Your Subscription
We believe in earned loyalty, not locked-in contracts. You can cancel your paid subscription or your 14-day free trial at any time without having to call a representative or jump through hoops.
Steps to Cancel
- Log into your account and go to Settings > Billing & Subscription.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Cancel Subscription.
- Select a reason for your cancellation from the drop-down menu (this helps our team improve the platform for other local businesses).
- Click Confirm Cancellation.
Once confirmed, you will see a banner at the top of your dashboard displaying the exact date your account access will end.
Canceling During the 14-Day Free Trial
If you are currently inside your 14-day free trial and decide SoTrustworthy isn't the right fit for your business, canceling before the 14 days expire ensures your credit card will never be charged. Your trial access will remain open until the end of the 14-day period, after which your account will automatically transition to an inactive state.
Canceling a Paid Subscription
If you cancel a paid monthly or annual subscription:
- Active Access Until Cycle Ends: You retain full access to your SMS-first review workflows, dashboard reporting, and account settings until the end of your current paid billing period.
- Automatic Workflow Suspension: Once your paid period expires, SoTrustworthy will stop sending automated review requests via SMS, and any active CRM webhook triggers (from systems like Jobber, HubSpot, or custom webhooks) will be ignored.
- No Penalty Fees: There are zero hidden termination fees, account closing costs, or penalties.

Your Google Reviews Are Yours Forever
All Google reviews generated through SoTrustworthy were written by your real customers directly on your official Google Business Profile. Because SoTrustworthy adheres strictly to Google review policies and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, we do not engage in review gating (filtering unhappy customers away from public review sites).
Because your reviews live directly on Google's servers, canceling or changing your SoTrustworthy plan has zero impact on your existing Google reviews, rating score, or search rankings. Every review you earned while using our software remains on your Google profile permanently.
Customer Data, SMS Logs, and Opt-Out Compliance
When your subscription ends:
- Exporting Contacts: You can export your full history of customer contacts, sent SMS records, and conversion metrics as a CSV file from the Contacts tab prior to your access expiration date.
- Opt-Out Compliance Preserved: Under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) and A2P 10DLC mobile carrier standards, businesses must strictly respect customer opt-outs (e.g., when a client replies "STOP" to a text message). SoTrustworthy permanently archives your account's opt-out list even after cancellation. If you ever reactivate your account in the future, those opt-out preferences will remain active to protect your business from sending unauthorized text messages.
Seasonal Pause vs. Full Cancellation
Many of our home-service clients—such as landscapers, pool maintenance services, or seasonal contractors—experience slow months during specific times of the year. If you don't need to send automated text requests during your off-season, you have two options:
Option 1: Downgrade to the Starter Plan
Instead of canceling entirely and losing your workflow configurations, custom SMS templates, and integration settings, you can downgrade to our lowest tier (Starter) for the off-season. This keeps your account active, preserves your custom SMS message sequences, keeps your Jobber or HubSpot connections ready, and allows you to manually send occasional text requests if a random job pops up.
Option 2: Full Cancellation and Future Reactivation
If you choose to cancel fully during the off-season, your account configuration, custom text templates, and historical campaign data are saved in our database for 12 months. When your busy season returns, simply log back in, re-enter your payment method under Settings > Billing, select your desired plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro), and your account will immediately reactivate with all your previous settings intact.
Frequently Asked Questions About Billing
Does SoTrustworthy offer refunds for unused time?
We do not offer prorated cash refunds for mid-cycle cancellations on monthly plans. When you cancel, your account simply remains active for the full duration of the month you have already paid for. If you upgrade mid-cycle, any remaining credit from your lower plan is automatically applied to your new charge.
What if I exceed my plan's monthly SMS limit?
SoTrustworthy protects your account from unexpected overage charges using review-request throttling. If your business reaches its monthly SMS limit, automated requests are safely queued or paused until your next billing cycle begins, or until you choose to manually upgrade your plan from the billing tab.
Will my CRM integration stop working if I cancel?
Yes. If you cancel your plan or let your trial expire, automated triggers connected via Jobber, HubSpot, Zapier, or native webhooks will no longer process incoming customer jobs into SMS review requests.
